本企画展は、益子で長く営まれ、
50周年を迎えられる 陶庫さんに
全面的なご協力をいただいております。

栃木県・益子のものづくりを、
器そのものだけでなく、
制作現場を支える人やものづくりの視点からも
お伝えしたいという想いから生まれました。

陶庫さんは、民藝の里・益子という土地に
根ざしながら、
時代や価値観の変化を柔軟に受け入れ、
先人たちの知恵と手仕事を
未来へと育み続けてこられた存在です。

この企画を通して、
器の向こう側にある
「人」や「土地」の気配を
感じていただけたら幸いです。

“Mashiko -In Between-”
The maker and the user.
One piece of pottery, two emotions.
The distance between them is closer than you might think.

This exhibition is being held with the full cooperation of Toko, a long-standing Mashiko pottery store celebrating its 50th anniversary.

This exhibition was born from our desire to convey the craftsmanship of Mashiko, Tochigi Prefecture, not only through the pottery itself, but also from the perspective of the people who support the production and the craftsmanship itself.

Toko is rooted in Mashiko, a town renowned for its folk arts.
They have flexibly embraced changes in the times and values,
and have continued to nurture the wisdom and handicrafts of their ancestors into the future.

Through this project, we hope you can sense the presence of the people and the land behind the pottery.
